Park View High School is proud to present Cameron Jordan Hawkins with the Senior of the Month Award.  Cameron is the daughter of Bobby and Angie Hawkins and lives with her loving family in Bracey.  The Hawkins’ worship at New Hope Baptist Church in Boydton.

Cameron is heavily involved in school activities.  She is the Vice President of the Student Government Association and her organizational affiliations include: the National BETA Club, Health Occupation Students of America, Future Business Leaders of America, and the Distributive Education Club of America.  Cameron also represents her classmates as the liaison to the Mecklenburg County School Board.

Cameron works part time at Lake Gaston Appliance Center, and she volunteers as a junior member of the Southside Rescue Squad.  Cameron will earn both the emergency medical technician (EMT) certificate and the life saving and water safety program (lifeguard) during the school year.  After graduation, Cameron plans to earn her degree in nursing and begin a career as a registered nurse.  When asked about her career plans, she replied, “I would like to work with trauma or pediatrics, and I would also like to go further in the rescue squad.”      

When Cameron learned about her selection as senior of the month she said, “I’m so shocked, excited, and blessed all at the same time.  I’m honored that my teachers and the other personnel think I deserve this!”  Mrs. Bryant Trihey PVHS teacher and SGA sponsor said that Cameron, “is the ideal student,” and that “The scholarship this honor provides would greatly assist her achieve her dreams and, in turn, further serve the community.”  Cameron describes herself as a typical teenager and said, “I love being with my family, shopping, and hanging out with my friends.”
